Today I handed out 3 non-gmo shopping guides to three women who were anxious to see the little tike in the trailer only to be surprised by a 5 gallon water jug. They got the statement on the back!!! Thanked me for riding around with it. Good Day in the Art Bike Socially Engaged Art Project business.
Thursday of last week lil' Kernel was in the Bike Parade at the U of M Tigurs Garden. We made the school paper on Friday complete with kazoo's in out mouths.

A new phase...."lil' Kernel"
After a 3 year hiatus, I am renewing my socially active art project about the food we eat. In keeping with my most common mode of transportation I created lil' Kernel. Many thanks to Gene Carkeet, the best donated bike mechanic in town, for giving me the trailer.
To begin lil' Kernel will take up where Maize left off. When I'm biking my errands and need extra cargo area I'll strap on the lil' Kernel. Inside I have my handmade book the Kernel of Truth, a non-GMO shopping guide, and organic corn seeds to hand out to those who are interested. Each side window has a scanable barcode to this website. Yesterday, I went to Whole Foods and refilled my 5 gallon water jug using the lil' Kernel. Tomorrow I'll take the lil' Kernel to the U of M Earth Day Celebration at the Garden. They are having a bike parade and I'll post pictures after that.
